He also has created coalitions to lead ballot measure campaigns involving tobacco taxes, liability reform, and protective helmet laws.
Karen Mainzer understands how Oregon government works, from the inside and out. Her two-decade career in the Oregon political arena includes experience as a committee administrator and legislative staffer, a private sector lobbyist, and as a liaison for Oregon agencies including the Department of Human Services. She has represented the Oregon Restaurant Association, Oregon Lodging Association, Travel Oregon, the Oregon Association of Community Mental Health Programs, and private clients as a senior lobbyist for Public Affairs Counsel. An economist, she started her career with the U.S. Department of Labor. She understands that relationships matter in government affairs and that persuasion is more effective when you crunch the numbers and have the facts.
